The Columbus Blue Jackets Welcome CHS Student Council
The CHS Student Council participated in PR and Journalism Day with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday, April 4th.  As a part of this day, they participated in a speaker panel with Columbus Blue Jackets in-arena announcer Greg Murray, rinkside reporter and game host Dave Maetzold, Corporate Communications Specialist Lindy Noel, team reporter Jeff Svoboda, and team photographer Ben Jackson.  Our students received great advice about what it takes to be in these fields and the education and training involved.  After an on-ice skate, they then took a tour of the arena, including the upper press level, tv and radio broadcast areas, and the CBJ conference room.  During this time, they got to meet and talk to Dylan Tyrer, who is a radio host and broadcast coordinator for the CBJ.  They stayed for the game, where the Boston Bruins beat the Jackets in overtime.  Overall, it was a great day where they learned a lot, collaborated with high school students from all over Ohio, and came home with a lot of great memories.  Thank you to the CBJ for creating these events for our students!  Mrs. Carrie Kunkle is the Student Council advisor and made this experience possible.
