Taking the Challenge
As a matter of fact, we hope that your class will participate in "The Class Challenge" as follows.
The Claymont Foundation, Inc. invites the graduating classes of Claymont, Dennison, and Uhrichsville to become a part of an exciting concept as we ask our alumni, individually and collectively, to accept...
"The Class Challenge"
The Class Challenge invites each alumni class group to raise funds through various projects or free-will donations from former classmates over a five year period to total their class year in dollars. For example, the class of 1961, when challenged would raise $1,961.00 over a 5 year period. If they wish, classes could include the class challenge in their reunion mailings, and ask individual class members to send in one cent for each numerical digit in the class year-which translates to $19.61 for the above example.
It will take five years to issue the challenge to all alumni groups, as it is done during a reunion year when the respective class committees are in the planning stages for their event.
Challenge contributions received by the Claymont Foundation will be used to support several goals of the organization, including student scholarships and teacher grants. All contributions made by individual class members and class groups must state that it is for The Class Challenge, and list the class year and maiden names for the women alumni. A further optional designation may specify where the challenge donation is to be used. A listing of contributors will appear in the Claymont Foundation newsletter.
Tax deductible donations may be sent to:
